I want to personally thank everyone that attended the first round of the series at WFO Raceway! With all your help we have made an impact for WFO to stick around longer and possibly help them expand on their drivers stand. There is one thing I forgot to do as we were there on Sunday. And that was to go around and collect donations for the wheel chair ramp. A good way to help donate is by heading down there through out the year and attend a few races!
We had a total of 59 entries which was not bad considering the weather forecasters could not even agree on how the day would go. The wind was pretty wicked at times but we didn't even see a drop of moisture dropping from the sky! With the sun out most of the day the track really started to groove up! Which in turn created a lot of tire wear. But that is what happens when you run on a true high bite surface. This is the only track on the series schedule that has that much traction. So you shouldn't worry about hosing off tires at the other facilities!
I am working on getting the points setup on a spreadsheet and will be posting them here soon. Also if you took pictures at the race and did not post them on FB then please send me what you got via e-mail at the e-mail link above or post them on the Series FB page. As I am working on doing a video for the first round. And hope to make one for each and every round! So if you have a camera or camcorder, let's bring them out and get some sweet action shots!!
Round #2 will be coming up in a few weeks. This round will be held at McCullough's Off-Road Raceway in Sarver, PA. We still havent decided when the track will open. But racing will start at 11am sharp and we will run 3 qualifiers and the mains. Another nice benefit of the larger drivers stand allows us to take 8 to the main with 2 bump-ups! Also we will be separate qualifiers and mains for all classes except for Youth and Sportsman. If we get a large turn out for both of those classes then they will run separate qualifiers and mains as well.
One thing we will need help with is track maintenance and announcers to help call the races. I believe this is the only track in the series that we will need announcers! So please if you know how to announce or are willing to learn then help us out and shoot me an email or message on Facebook!
I also want to give a shout-out to the youth and sportsman drivers for their awesome driving on Sunday and to Liz and Brian Hose for allowing us to race in their backyard on their super
